THE CHAIN
Every layer is a shader built in four steps:
Space bends the coordinates (tile, polar, warp…)
Field turns a position into a value (noise, circle…)
Shape reshapes the value (levels, contours…)
Color turns the value into colour
COMBINE
Several fields merge with an operator: × multiply, + add,
∪ union, ∩ intersect, Δ difference… Click the symbol to change it.
NAVIGATE
Scroll over a block to swap it for its neighbours
Select a block, then ↑↓ swap · ←→ move · Del remove
Mutate… shows nine variations of the layer
EXPRESSIONS
Click ƒ next to a slider and type GLSL:
t time · mx my mouse · p position · v value
e.g. sin(t)*0.5 or length(p)*3
MOVE IT
~ next to a slider swings it with a wave (sine, saw, wander…).
✥ Steer or Shift-drag the canvas to push the selected block around.
EXPORT
Stills up to 4K+, and video with a seamless loop option.
CODE
The Code tab shows the real shader. Edit as code turns a block into GLSL you write yourself.
LAYERS
Layers stack bottom to top with blend modes. Cut out by value makes dark parts see-through.
LAYERS FEEDING LAYERS
Mask shows a layer only where another layer is bright.
Blocks Layer (field), Layer Warp (space) and From Layer (color) read another layer live.
Hide a layer (●) to use it only as a source.
TRAILS & POST
Trails feed a layer's last frame back in: zoom and rotate make tunnels and spirals.
Blur softens one layer; Bloom and Chroma act on the whole picture.
